Dr. Anand Narayanan’ 12 is a genome engineering scientist with Johnson & Johnson and was recognized in November’ 23 in the Association of Former Students’ 12 under 12 Young Alumni Spotlight for exemplifying the Aggie core values in his career through his service.
Anand earned his Ph. D. in Biology from Texas A&M University, College Station. His doctoral research identified gene regulatory networks involved in the Wnt pathway that is involved in human development and diseases. Besides serving as an officer in several organizations, he also served as the President of two student organizations and a senator in the Student Government Association. He was honored with BuckWeirus Spirit Award, Eppright Outstanding International Student award, the highest honor bestowed to an enrolled international student and academic excellence awards.
Anand completed his postdoctoral training from Section of Cardiology, Department of Internal Medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven. His research focused on advancing genome editing techniques in medical research. He worked as a research faculty at Yale University on the applications of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) platforms in personalized medicine before transitioning to pharmaceutical industry.
