Regional Representative : Inaugural Young Alumni Advisor Council

Howdy, Anand!

I want to say congratulations, as you were one of the 20 former students selected to serve in a leadership position on the 2012 Young Alumni Advisory Council.

After much discussion and deliberation, we are pleased to offer you the position of:

REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVE

Of Inaugural The Young Alumni Advisory Council is a volunteer group that serves on behalf of The Association of Former Students. Because this council is an ADVISORY council, and not a governance council, the purpose of this group will be to brainstorm new ideas, assist The Association and local A&M Clubs in the implementation of our approved efforts, and identify and integrate Texas A&M former students who have graduated within the last decade into Young Alumni programming, events, and initiatives.

Length of Term: Remainder of 2012 (will have the option to re-apply for 2013 council) Time Commitment: 1-3 hours per week.

Additional Commitments & Responsibilities:

YOUNG ALUMNI REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVE (15 Total)

  • Attend all scheduled on-campus council meetings
    • if unable to attend, a Young Alumni Advisory Council member must, in writing, inform The Association liaison and the chair of any corresponding committee that s/he serves on, at minimum, two weeks prior to the meeting
  • Actively participate in monthly committee meeting conference calls, as needed
  • Be responsible for serving on the A&M Clubs Committee and collaborating with other Regional Representatives to maintain consistency in our recommendations and messaging to local A&M Clubs
  • Shall assist Association liaison in creating a model for our local A&M Clubs to actively integrate Young Alumni into its programs and initiatives
  • Shall maintain regular contact with assigned A&M Clubs to provide guidance, support, and assistance
  • Represent the Young Alumni Advisory Council at the 2012 Fall Leadership Council on Friday, November 16, 2012
  • Participate in your local A&M Club events and serve as a resource to your local A&M Club leadership
    • Potentially become a Young Alumni Coordinator for your local A&M Club
  • Assist in planning local and regional Young Alumni events as needed
  • Actively participate in Young Alumni programs, events and initiatives in your local area
  • Financially support The Association’s Annual Fund (min. $50 gift for 2012)
  • Create and utilize a profile and email address on AggieNetwork.com
